Red Ribbon Week

October 24-28 is Red Ribbon Week. Students will have daily activities promoting ways to live a drug-free life:
Monday, October 24: “Red Ribbon Kick-Off Day”. Students will pledge to be drug-free and receive red ribbons.
Tuesday, October 25: “Don’t Slip into Drugs”. Students will wear slippers inside the school and make a list of all things they can do INSTEAD of drugs.
Wednesday, October 26: “Sock It To Drugs Day”. Students will wear red socks; draw a picture, write a sentence/paragraph/essay about what they will do instead of drugs.
Thursday, October 27: “Turn Your Back On Drugs”. Students will wear their uniform shirts/blouses backwards.
Friday, October 28: “Red Day”. This is a dress-down day, but red should be worn. Students will present their drawing or writing from Wednesday to their classmates.

ITBS Testing Week

The week of September 29 is designated for ITBS testing for grades 3-8. Each day, students should have a good night’s sleep and eat a good breakfast. Pencils will be provided for the students by our Student Council. Test results will be reported to the parents through a separate letter.

September Open House

Please join the Tuesday, September 13, 2011, 6:30pm-8:15pm for our annual open house. The evening will begin at 6:30pm in your child’s classroom to see the amazing work they have done so far in school. Following, at 6:45pm in the Church basement, will be the Home/School Association (HSO) meeting. Come meet the Principal, Mrs. Hawkinson and HSO members to hear about up-coming events and volunteer opportunities.

Welcome New and Returing Families!

We are so blessed to have all of you with us at St. Therese School! Our school year began with an all school assembly and breakfast. Cereal donated by Mrs. Bowman (Post Foods), juice bags (Mr. and Mrs. Colandeau, and fresh fruit (Prisco Family Grocery Store). We are very grateful for your generous donations.
Following the breakfast, the students participated in a new school-wide program. which will enhance PBIS, “Don’t Laugh At Me”. This “Don’t Laugh At Me” is an anti-bullying focus, based on awareness of differences in personal appearance, ethnicity, religion, and personal beliefs. The curriculum is age appropriate with classroom and school-wide activities to reinforce throughout the year.

2011-12 Registration

Registration will be Monday, August 8, 8 a.m. – 3p.m in the school office. All grades, Preschool – Grade 8, are open.

Donate to St. Therese School

For the 2011-12 school year, the school is seeking donations of used copy paper. Instead of shredding non-sensitive paper, please consider donating to our school.

Financial donations are also welcome. If you are able to financially support a student in need so they may take advantage of Catholic education, then we need you.

Our office will open August 1st.

Here are the summer hours for the office:

  • June 13 – June 30: 8:00 AM until 12:00 Noon
  • July: Closed
  • August 1: 8:00 AM until 3:00 PM

 

New Principal Announced

St. Therese of Jesus School will have a new principal for the upcoming 2011-12 school year. Her name is Ann Hawkinson and she comes to us with many years’ experience running Catholic schools.

Oh behalf of the entire school , we welcome Mrs. Hawkinson to our community and we look forward to working with her soon.
