Principal’s Report October 6, 2015
Item: Iowa Assessments completed. Testing was done over a two week period in grades 3,4,5,6,7,8.
Item: Donations and Grants
Aurora Catholic Education Foundation: $6,358
United in Faith Tuition Assistance: $16,000
United in Faith Grant:$1,847
Private Donation to Scholarship Fund: $400
Financial Aid awarded in the amount of $18,250 to 18 families/33 students between UIF grants and St. Therese Scholarships.
United in Faith Grants 14,500 ($150O) Remains in reserve for emergency tuition assistance.
St. Therese Scholarships awarded: $3,750. ($9,128) remains in the scholarship fund as seed money for the Annual Scholarship Dinner Dance and emergency tuition assistance.
Item: Dance Committee met. Great turnout. Set goal of $20,000 for next Spring’s event.

Education Commission Meeting
Item: Enrollment Six day count was 137 with two closed classrooms with waiting lists: Pre K3/4 and Grade 5/6
Item: Children’s Choir: will sing on Sundays with scheduled Home and School Breakfasts.
Item: Bathroom Remodeling Girl’s bathroom nearly completed – waiting on backordered window replacements. Boys remodel scheduled for Christmas Break.

Item: Dinner Dance
The Education Commission is an advisory panel of parents, parish members and/or a “person-at-large” who advise the principal in the vision, governance, and policy writing of the school. The goals of the commission include: 1) Act out the spirit of the mission and philosophy of the school and advise in the writing and revising of policies; 2) Contribute ideas for the support of the school; 3) Explore ways to involve more families in the school and school activities; and 4) Assist in monitoring the school’s financial planning.
Any parent/guardian who would like to join the Education Commission should contact the Principal for more information. Meetings are open to all parents/guardians and are posted on the monthly calendar.
